New MVV procedure for Mexican students

19 Nov 2011

As of 19 December 2011 Mexican visa requests will not be handled directly by the Dutch Embassy in Mexico, but by the regional office in Washington D.C. This means the local procedure will take longer than before.

New MVV procedure for Mexican students

The Dutch Embassy in Mexico has announced that because of efficiency reasons, from mid-December on the passport and MVV requests will be handled by the Regional Service Offce (RSO) in Washington D.C.

After the IND has approved a students' MVV request, the student must go to the Dutch Embassy (or consulate) to leave his or her passport behind. Whereas it used to take 2 or 3 working days to handle the request at the Embassy, this waiting time will now be around 10 working days because the passport must be sent to the United States for the handling.

In case you have any questions about this new procedure, please contact the Dutch Embassy in Mexico by e-mail: mex-info@minbuza.nl.
