Termination of Huygens Scholarship Programme and Libertas Support Fund from 1 January 2012
13 Apr 2011
The Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science will terminate the Huygens Scholarship Programme and Libertas Support Fund as from 1 January 2012. This has emerged from the proposals for cutting education spending, which Dutch Minister for Education van Bijsterveld sent to the House of Representatives on Monday 11 April. Both programmes are administered by Nuffic.
Please note the following:
- The termination of the Huygens and Libertas Support Fund scholarship programmes has no consequences for students currently receiving a scholarship under either of these two programmes. They can continue to pursue and complete their studies within the current framework of the Huygens or Libertas Support Fund scheme.
- The cuts have no consequences for the current round of applications for the Huygens Scholarship Programme. Selection of scholarship recipients and allocation of Huygens Scholarships will proceed in accordance with the existing procedure (see www.nuffic.nl/huygens).
