Study-abroad market
One of the main sections in the Education Market Information Factsheets is the study-abroad market.
The factsheet describes, for example, the potential of the Mexican education market, with the expectation that the number of students studying abroad will increase. However, this expectation does depend on the recovery of the global economy.
The section on possible market approaches gives special attention to online promotion, listing popular search engines and social network websites.
Profile of prospective students
The factsheet also contains information on prospective students. A student survey conducted by Nuffic Neso Mexico shows that Mexican students are mostly interested in studying abroad in the fields of engineering and technology, and in economics, business and management.
The majority of the students interested in studying abroad are currently following an undergraduate degree or are currently employed. This indicates that the Mexican education market is mostly a postgraduate education market.
The study-abroad market section ends with a SWOT analysis for the promotion of Dutch higher education. One of the opportunities mentioned in the analysis is that Mexican students and higher education institutions seem to be switching their interest from the US towards Europe.
Institutional cooperation
Nuffic Neso Mexico has currently mapped out 86 cooperation agreements between Dutch and Mexican higher education institutions, not all of them active. The signed agreements range from cooperation on student exchanges to joint research projects. Please refer to the factsheet for opportunities and for calls for proposals.
Publication
The factsheet is available for Dutch higher education institutions on the market information pages of the Nuffic website (login required). A login is provided only to institutions that have signed the Code of Conduct.
