Commercial agents in Mexico: option for promotion?
16 Dec 2010
During the last three months, project assistant Linda Seriese did research on commercial education agents in Mexico. In her report she determined which are the most important agents and what they do for promoting higher education institutions in Mexico.
One of the main conclusions from her research is that Mexico is not a country that widely uses commercial education agents for recruitment of students. There are only ten agents that represent institutions from various countries and many that focus entirely on Canada, Oceania and the UK.
Only 2% of the students who go abroad for a higher education degree programme make use of the services of agents. The main focus of Mexican education agents is language courses, summer camps and other (short) stays abroad.
The full report will be available on the Nuffic market information pages (login required) next year. For more information you can contact Nuffic Neso Mexico.
