The Reader’s Digest University ranking is a very interesting ranking since it considers higher education institutions in the whole country, in contrary to the other two rankings that focus on a specific region. Some HEI, such as Tec de Monterrey (ITESM) will be among the top universities in any region since they are very widespread. Others, mainly the public autonomous universities, are only represented in one region. The mixture between public and private institutions in the top 10 universities (four public and six private institutions) demonstrate that the quality is not necessarily better in one or the other.
